The Freshwater Quality Monitoring and Surveillance Program in the St. Lawrence watershed is carried out by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) as well as through the Agreement between Canada and Quebec for Monitoring Water Quality and the St. Lawrence Action Plan in order to assess the status of water quality and long-term trends, to detect emerging problems, to establish water quality recommendations and to monitor the effectiveness of corrective measures and regulatory decisions.
The Freshwater Quality Monitoring and Surveillance Program in the St. Lawrence River Watershed is conducted by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and through the Canada-Quebec Water Quality Monitoring Agreement and the St. Lawrence Action Plan to assess the state of water quality and long-term trends, detect emerging problems, establish water quality guidelines, and track the effectiveness of remedial actions and regulatory decisions.
