The Wheatley River Improvement Group (WRIG) is a non-government, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the protection and management of The Wheatley River, Cymbria, Crooked Creek, Chapel Creek, Oyster Bed Bridge, Horne’s Creek and Luke’s Creek Watersheds. During the summer field season, a monthly (approx.) anoxia survey is conducted between the Wheatley River and Oyster Bed Bridge bridges using portable water quality sensors. This information is analyzed with historical data to determine water quality status and trends, thereby guiding watershed management activities. Thank you to the PEI Wildlife Conservation Fund, PEI Watershed Management Fund, WRIG Sponsors, and WRIG members for their financial support. An additional thank you to the PEI Watershed Alliance for their technical support and equipment use.
